Travel In Tibet With CJ Sidecar

Tibet is located in the very end of the west part of China. The average elevation is above 3000 meters. It’s adjacent to India and Pakistan. Because of the particularity of the geography and Zang culture and the beautiful view of the tableland, Tibet has attracted too many attention from people all over the world.

The distance between Beijing and Tibet is about 4500Kms, and it’s about 4135Kms from shanghai to Tibet. Very long distance! But if you wanna drive to Tibet, that’s not impossible. But it will take about 25-30 days one way, so it’s about 50-60 days two ways. If you think it takes too long time, we can arrange an easier way to you.

We’ll send the bikes to Xi Ning from beijing or shanghai, which is about 1800Kms from Tibet, and the travellers can both take the train or airplane to Xi ning, then we start from Xi Ning to Tibet. We’ll pass the beautiful grasslands, deserts, sand hills, the Kunlun Mountains, and we will probably across the Kekexili unpopulated area as well. (It’s the only nature unpopulated area in China ). It will be such a good feeling to drive there. The sky is about 20-30 meters above your head. You can also see the white snow on the top of the moutains on both side of the road. If you are lucky, you will also see Pantholops hodgsoni running on the road. Remember one thing, you don’t even need to use the brake when you are driving here. If you are tired of driving, and want to have a little rest, you can make a tent here, you can also spend the night there. When we arrive the biggest city in Tibet, which is Lhasa. We’ll arrange you to live in the best hotel there, you can enjoy the delicious chinese and western food there. After that, we’ll drive to some classic tour places, like Nam Lake. The Tibet's landmark Potala Palace is the place we will definitely go to , and we will also drink the wine that is made from highland barley. You can only find it here. After that, we’ll drive back to Xi Ning, and take the train or airplane back to Beijing or Shanghai, it takes about 18-20 days for the whole trip.
